The University of Bristol has begun a review of the animal welfare implications of euthanizing neonate piglets on-farm using the Zephyr-EXL euthanasia system.  There are a variety of reasons for on-farm euthanasia of farm animals including:  
  • euthanasia of diseased/injured animals (culling);
  • management/husbandry euthanasia;
  • whole farm/building euthanasia
